What is Bulgogi?
Think extra-tender thin slices of beef, in a delicious sauce made with soy sauce, onions, and .... well if you want to know more, join us!
In this 2 hours hand-on class, Chef Jun Pyo Kwon will teach you his secrets for the best beef marinade.
He will reveal you the tricks to choose your meat, how to properly slice it and how to make it as tender as possible.
You will then learn how to make Japchae, a delicious dish of sweet potato glass noodles stir fried with veg, mushrooms and some beef bulgogi.
At the end of the class, you will be able to eat with the Chef all the fabulous food you'll have prepared. And there might be a few yummy surprises from the Chef.
About Yijo and Chef JP Kwon :
After working for the last 15 years in prestigious restaurants in South Korea and London, Chef Jun Pyo Kwon took over Yijo Restaurant in Finchley Central, one of the oldest Korean restaurants in London, at the end of 2013.
Yijo is now "Yijo - Korean BBQ Restaurant" and specializes in authentic Korean cuisine and Charcoal BBQ on the tables. Yes, you got it : each of our tables is equipped with a built-in charcoal BBQ and allows you to be the Chef for the night while you cook away our delicious prime cuts of meat like Wagyu Rib Eye, beef short ribs, pork belly , etc...
Yijo is also THE place if you want to learn more about Korean cuisine in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. With only 7 students maximum per class, you will be able to talk with the Chef and ask as many questions as you want.
We offer a range of cooking classes, from Kimbap (Korean rice rolls), Homemade Tofu, Bulgogi and of course the now famous Kimchi.
