Originally from South Africa, the founder of DBFOODS is now based in London and Kent. His love for food was developed as a child in his mother's kitchen as well as in his beloved Aunt Kate's. Aunt Kate was a self taught caterer and chef with a wealth of experience drawing from Jewish and Indian cultures and blending it into a style uniquely South African. Food in apartheid South Africa was consolation food and this made it soul food for the oppressed. Always there to help his mother and Aunt, the founder acquired a wealth of culinary skills and it is this rich heritage that DBFOODS now shares at market stalls in London and in the Kent area.
The founder of DBFOODS left a very successful teaching career after 25 years to follow his life-long passion for food in 2012. Most of what DBFOODS offer would be familiar foods in South African households and the public in the UK now have a unique opportunity to experience and enjoy these delights! DBFOODS strive to greatly enrich the Food Experiences of everyone who comes to enjoy the foods from the Rainbow Nation!
