Betty's food is absolutely delicious, veg and non-veg. A completely different range of tastes and textures than I usually try but really memorable, great value and made with love. Thank you betty!

I'd never had Ethiopian food, and really didn't know what to expect. But went along to a dinner hosted by Beti at her Cafe Art Nouveau venue.

As a slightly jaded Londoner it was really exciting to taste some new spices that I hadn't had before. I hadn't come across Berbere before, it had some familiar bits to it but in a combination I didn't know.

The flavours were rich and varied. It reminded me of Persian cuisine( or really nice Indian) in the way flavours come and go in waves with one mouthful. The Spinach with cottage cheese especially reminded me of North AFrica/Arabic food.

The Doha and Zighni are a bit more like West African curries and stews but without the searing heat. These were the dishes that had new flavours in for me and I can't recommend them enough.

Beti was a great host all evening and as a bonus made us some real coffee in the authentic Ethiopian way. Delicious and a lovely taste and smell experience to finish the evening.

Oh and the flatbread is worth going all on it's own!
