Lovely Meal

Saw this on the Plumtree Facebook page. My partner and I really love Indian food so I booked, not quite knowing what to expect. The food was all lovely, really tasty and flavourful, not too salty, or overly spicy. I agree with the previous review on the amount of food though, the butter chicken was divine, but there was less of this to go around, although there was plenty of biryani, which was also delicious. Rani was very friendly, but as this was set up as a supper-club, a bit more 'hosting' or info about the food might have broken the ice a little. Would recommend. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Our first Indian Pop-up!

We spotted this pop up being advertised by Plumtree Café @ Greenwich and immediately jumped at the chance! I took my 7 year old along as I wanted him to be part of the experience and try some new Indian dishes. Overall, the experience did not let us down. Rani, the chef, was polite and welcoming as well as clearly very talented in the kitchen. The dishes were well thought through and gave us a wide variety of items to taste during the three courses. My only recommendation for next time would be to pace the courses a little better. The gap between the starters and mains seemed a little long - perhaps keep the guests munching on some poppadums and bits while they wait? Also, the portion sizes for *some of the dishes could have been bigger, as each portion were all being shared by 5 / 6 people. *I loved the aubergine dish but there was hardly more than a spoonful per person :( On the other hand, lots of biryani for everyone, so just a question of balancing the portions out I think. Definitely a great evening for us and will be back if Rani is back in this part of town!
