In this step by step and hands on class you will have the opportunity to learn the basics and the traditional cooking techniques in the informal setting of my kitchen in Sutton, Surrey.
You will learn to balance the flavours by combining the spices and herbs which will produce amazing food using simple everyday ingredients. You will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions during the class, as you will have an added benefit of having the teacher for yourself guiding and explaining the procedure with you throughout the class.
Your day will comprise of a mixture of hands on cookery and demonstrations. We will talk you through the class menu and give a general introduction to the spices being used. You will then start cooking under the expert tuition of MasterChef 2014 Quarter Finalist Rani; learning everything you need to know to enable you to create an authentic Indian meal.
You will learn:
- Preparing a Spice Blend
- Classic Chicken Curry
- Onion Pakora
- Special Pilau Rice
Skills to learn:
- Information on sourcing and storing spices
- Introduction to the key spices
- Cookery Tips
- Basic Knife Skills, Food Hygiene and Safety
You will taste the food as we go, and you will take away the food to share with your family and friends enough for 2 people.
All the ingredients, recipes, containers and apron for the class will be supplied. This class is suitable for beginners to intermediate students. Vegetarian option for Lamb Samosa is available, please request at the time of booking.
It is an excellent special occasion gift for your loved ones. Alternatively, a great opportunity for you to learn your favourite dishes.
