For our debut's night, you will be served nothing but the classic Nyonya dishes. These are dishes that my grandma would make for special occasions like birthday or weddings. And since this is the first outing of Peranakan Palace, I'll said this is indeed something worth celebrating about.
So come and join me and here's some of the dishes that will be on the menu:
Achar (Nyonya veggie pickles with spice paste)
Ngor Hiang (Five-spice meat rolls )
Popiah! (Sweet braised Vegetable wrapped in HOMEMADE Popiah skins)
Ox Cheek Rendang (Slow cooked ox cheek in spice paste and coconut milk)
Babi Pongteh (Braised Pork belly, Bamboo shoots, mushrooms and potatoes in fermented bean paste)
Sayur Lodeh (Mixed vegetables stewed in coconut gravy)
Nasi Kunyit (Glutinous rice cooked with turmeric and coconut milk)
.....plus a few Nyonya kuihs/puddings to round things off
This is a BYOB event so feel free to bring along any drinks that tickle your fancy.
