New Year. New Start.
To kick things off for the new year, I'm mixing it up by serving a few Singaporean classics alongside with the traditional Nyonya fare.
On the menu:
Chwee Kueh (Steamed rice cake with spicy radish toppings)
Orh Kueh (Steamed Yam cake)
Mee Rebus (Noodles in sweet potato gravy)
My signature 16 hrs Slow Braised Ox Cheek Rendang (Slow cooked ox cheek in spice paste and coconut milk)
Sambal Babi ( Braised pork belly in a spicy piquant sauce)
Sayur Lodeh (Mixed vegetables stewed in coconut gravy)
Nasi Lemak ( Coconut rice with crispy anchovies, peanuts and chilli sambal)
.....plus a few Nyonya kuihs/puddings to round things off.
This is a BYOB event so feel free to bring along any drinks that tickle your fancy.
Expect loads of food and do come hungry...you have been warned.
