Whenever the temperature plummet, I always crave for a comforting bowl of Laksa to warm me up and for this March only, I am serving up Nyonya Laksa alongside many other Peranakan dishes.
Here's just some of the dishes that will be on the menu:
Achar (Nyonya veggie pickles with spice paste)
Ngor Hiang (Crispy Five spice meat rolls)
Nyonya Pork Satay ( BBQ pork skewers with spicy peanut and pineapple sauce)
Kueh Kledek (Fried sweet potato balls with aromatic pork and candied melon fillings)
Pulut Pangang (BBQ glutinous rice rolls in banana leaves with piquant shrimps fillings)
Nyonya Laksa ( Rice noodles in spicy coconut broth)
.....plus a few Nyonya kuihs/puddings to round things off.
This is a BYOB event so feel free to bring along any drinks that tickle your fancy.
Expect loads of food and do come hungry...you have been warned.
