Following on a successful Chinese New Year supperclub, I'm bringing you yet another round of traditional Nyonya fare. Homely, comforting and wholesome dishes just like my grandma used to make. Here are just some of the dishes featured on the menu:
Achar (Nyonya veggie pickles with spice paste)
Ngor Hiang (Five-spice meat rolls )
Rojak (Fruits and vegetable salad in a piquant peanut dressing)
Nasi Ulam (Nyonya Aromatic herbed Rice Salad)
My signature 16 hrs Slow Braised Ox Cheek Rendang (Slow cooked ox cheek in spice paste and coconut milk)
Babi Assam (Braised Pork belly in tangy tamarind sauce)
Sayur Lodeh (Vegetables stew with coconut gravy)
.....plus a few Nyonya kuehs/puddings to round things off
This is a BYOB event so feel free to bring along any drinks that tickle your fancy.
Expect loads of food and do come hungry...you have been warned.
