We love to create tasty feasts celebrating ingredients at their seasonal, nutritional best – and to showcase the amazing produce on our doorsteps. So that’s what we do at soothe food, in a creative menu based on British classics with a spin, that plays with ingredients and pairings to create something memorable. And it’s all served up in a relaxing cozy atmosphere to let you savour the meal and make some new friends to boot. This really is food to soothe the soul!

We’ve been cooking up tempting feasts for the last two years and now we have a new home - we’re now hosting in a lovely little café in Balham. It’s still a warm and welcoming space but with a bit more room to fit in expanding bellies!

Scrummy Supper Club! | But I've Kissed Enough Frogs...

Delicious coeliac-friendly food and fun, welcoming atmosphere.

Issi Gluten Free in London attended Soothe Suppers: Spring Celebration in April 2015, reviewed on 29 April 2015

I thoroughly recommend coeliac and IBS folk in London try a Soothe Supper. I've been to two of their meals now, and had a great time at both. It is such a pleasure to eat out with a bunch of like-minded people and not have to worry about gluten, cross-contamination, or looking out for FODMAPs. Emma and her partner are great hosts too, quick to put everyone at ease and super at keeping the food and conversation flowing. :) The food is delicious, better quality than a lot of restaurants - the stuffed lamb at the Spring Celebration was divine. I've enjoyed eating meals I wouldn't usually cook for myself - venison pie, homemade marshmallows, chocolate orange tart, sticky toffee pudding...mmmmm. Lovely stuff!

Best dietary food I have eaten!

NickyG attended Soothe your way into 2015 in February 2015, reviewed on 16 February 2015

Never having been to a Supper club before this was a brilliant one to start on. Not only was host Emma very friendly and informative, the food was some of the best tasting dietary food I have eaten and plenty of it! I did not once feel out of place eating in a strangers house.

Canapés and a cocktail on arrival which were a great start to what we had in store for the remainder of the evening. We found our place names, introduced ourselves to who we were stat next to, and then the starter arrived. I didn't have a favourite course as I loved them all. Dessert was amazing, but I do love a good pudding! Instead of coffee, we got a home made digestif which was strong but lovely.

We were lucky to get 5-10 min chat with Emma at the beginning, but it would have been nice to hear more about why she has set this up, what was her long term goal, which we were lucky enough to ask her about!

I would definitely go to this supper club again and highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking of going. Good luck Emma with all the future supper clubs and plans!

Really delicious, intimate supper club

Emma was a lovely host, the food was delicious and there was lots of it. The canapés we received at the beginning were totally unexpected and really tasty, opening everyone's appetite for the evening. My favourite was the starter, light and fragrant. The main was very succulent and the dessert was refreshing. Emma also created a little tipple for everyone to enjoy and we all got a lovely surprise to take home with us, I won't spoil it in case it's a 'thing'.
I would've liked Emma to talk us through each dish and maybe her inspiration behind them, helping us really get into the recipes and flavours. It would've also liked Emma to maybe talk more about herself and the supper club.
Overall, it was an amazing experience! Highly recommended!

Fantastic food and hosts

I bought a ticket because my friend had asked me to join her and did not have time to read the info, description or even the location. So to my happy surprise not only was all the food top quality restaurant standard in taste and display (and FODMAPS friendly too) but the setting was in the lovely hosts home. The whole evening was beautifully laid out; menu very well designed and setting relaxed.

I will have no hesitation in recommending this event to anyone.

I went with my friend and we had a really nice evening. I had a lot of dietary requirements which I was concerned about but Emma emailed me and was more than happy to accommodate them.

The food was very tasty and it was a great evening. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Good-for-you food that's bloody lovely

Don't be alarmed - just because Soothe Supper Club dodges gluten and FODMAP ingredients, it doesn't mean you miss out on flavour, texture or leaving with a satisfied tummy. In fact, I'd go far to say that because Soothe isn't filling the gaps with bread and other items of bulk, you actually get more for your tastebuds and monies worth. Host Emma was as collected and cool as any passionate and experienced cook could be. Plus, when she got to have a chinwag with us at the end, I felt like we were friends from way back. Definitely felt more like a home-away-from home experience as opposed to a business transaction, which some supper clubs can feel like. The only constructive feedback to offer is that the portion sizes (namely for the main) was far more than most of the guests could eat. But on the flip side, four courses and a cheeky cocktail for £25 is totally worth you trying Soothe for yourself.

Great Atmosphere, Great Food

A great evening! This was our first ever supper club; we were a group of 4 and although we all loved the concept of a supper club there was always the questions of: will it be a little awkward? And with 1 or 2 gluten-lovers in the group, it was a concern that the food might not be to their liking. But we needn't have worried. The amazing chef and hostess, Emma, is very welcoming and laid back which sets a great atmosphere. With drinks on arrival you have time to meet the other diners (all of which were very nice!) before sitting down at the table - time enough to see their sweet little garden as well. The food was really delicious. The menu had been thought through very well; the dishes were very fresh, creative and healthy (some of the ideas I will definitely be stealing for my own kitchen) and with decent portion sizes we all left feeling very satisfied, but not heavy, thanks to the nature of the ingredients. I would definitely recommend!

I had never been to a supper club before and although the food through Soothe Food is aimed at people with stomach problems or dietary requirements you don't have to have one of these issues to attend. I went as I wanted to experience new foods and meet new people and I wasn't disappointed. Emma is such a friendly, warm host and makes incredibly, tasty food ALL from scratch and some vegetables/herbs she grows in her own garden. I went on my own and although most people were in couples I never felt left out, everyone was friendly and welcoming and I got on with a couple so well we have swapped numbers and I hope to meet with them again soon or at least at the next supper club! As I said the food was delicious (very generous portions and extra home made bread offered, yum!), all presented very professionally and with the extra touches of a cocktail and canapés on arrival, along with a beautifully decorated table with fresh herbs, cucumber water and candles, made it a very warm, relaxed, fun evening. I definitely recommend and look forward to the next one!

Wonderful Surprise!

I have attended a number of super clubs, but prior to attending Soothe Food, never one that’s primary aim is to cater for food intolerance. Whilst I’ll admit that I was hesitate as to what a menu catering to FODMAP might entail, my concern were completely unjustified. I would never have realised that this was a specialist menu as from the canapés to pudding every item was beautifully presented and, most importantly, incredibly tasty!

I look forward to visiting again and I would certainly recommend Soothe Food as a supper club to attend, whether you have FODMAP dietary requirements or not!

Delicious and Healthy!

Tjeninho attended Soothe Suppers: August in May 2014, reviewed on 30 July 2014

Where to start?! The food was delicious, varied and fantastically well-presented alongside beautiful menus detailing why each ingredient was selected, which local supplier had been used to source the food, and the potential health benefits. Our gracious hostess Emma was always on hand to answer fodmap questions & provide extra information on all the delicious cuisine. The elderflower fizz was a great start to help people get to know each other and the time between courses was well-judged with everyone chatting away. Healthy, naturally flavoured water on the table was a lovely touch as was the peppermint tea to finish (made from fresh garden mint). The attention to detail lasted throughout all courses of this absolute feast and I will be re-booking again in the very near future!
