A fresh feast of Jordanian soul food, a comforting blend of traditional spices and herbs alongside modern influences to celebrate the beginning of the fall. 

The Peckham Pelican is a airy and relaxed venue in between Peckham and Camberwell serving an exciting range of drinks, perfect for a joyful mid-week dinner.

This is the first event of a series of four that will take place every Wednesday of October. The menu will change every week, to reflect different nuances of the Levantine cuisine.

 

Marco and Batool trained at Honey and Co, where they quickly became good friends.

 

Menu Wednesday 12th October:

Starters:

Pumpkin Mufarrakha: slow cooked pumpkin with cumin and coriander, garlic yogurt, crispy pitta.

Beetroot salad with tahini, mint, roasted salted almonds.

Main:

Stuffed aubergines with minty lamb in tomato sauce, apricot tabouleh.

Dessert:

Knafe: kadaifi pastry with a rich cheese filling.

We had such a great night eating Jordanian food for the first time last night at the Peckham Pelican. We were treated to tastes and recipes I've never had before and it was a revelation. A glorious evening in a nice informal setting. Well done Batool and Marco, it was a triumph.
