Fantastic way to spend Valentine's Day
Rating: 10
As a couple, we tend to not go out for Valentine's day - think mass rows of consumers squashed together and hurried through their courses. This experience could not have been farther from that.
On arrival, we were offered the spacious window seat along with a complimentary glass of sparkling rose. So far so good. The hostess was delightful - catering to our every need - happy to chat but never intrusive.
And then there was the food. The first course, the Duet of tartare, mango texture, gazpacho granite was sensational. It did however cause our first disagreement of the night - I thought the tartare was the best part, my fiance the innovative gazpacho granite. This went well with a bar purchased local beer (Mean time pale ale, of course).
The second course - Chicken & liver ballotine, pear & mango chutney, vol au vent was delightful - was the perfect mix of sweet and savoury. Washed down with a tasty Sauv Blanc we ordered at the bar.
We were then treated to an off menu palate cleanser of coconut and lychee granita - wow! A surprise as this unscheduled course was probably my favourite.
Sea bass, samphire, champagne sabayon oyster - need I say more? The sea bass was cooked two ways beautifully - and the samphire had just enough truffle to make my heart (and taste buds) sing. Oyster had the taste of sea that transported you to the coast....
Cherry on the cake - this title does not do enough to demonstrate this beautiful dessert served on slate to share (unfortunately - I sort of wish I had been there alone to eat both portions). Beautiful mix of sweet treats with a beautiful savoury kick. All washed down with some purchased malbec of course.
I shall certainly be back to other pops up by Edible Experiences (especially in Greenwich_ - we are foodies and this was certainly fine dining - really great value for money and something a little different from dining at Coq D'Argent again.
What a fantastic evening!

The food was amazing, the staff were lovely and the setting was perfect. The best Valentine's Day meal we've ever had - thanks so much!
