Despite (or possibly because of) the current economic woes, interest in less industrial, more artisan and more natural produce continues to develop. Regarding wine, "natural" is a hard-to-define term involving minimal treatments to the vine and soil, and an approach to winemaking that usually avoids filtration limits sulphur dioxide usage. The wines produced might be a bit wild and funky due to more laissez-faire attitudes to bacteria, or may be harder to find distinctive - it's up to you to decide! We'll discuss the relevant winemaking issues, and sample wines in a range of styles and price levels.
