After the success of our last event in April we are hosting another night of Filipino Food and Surprises!
Expect to try new and exciting dishes from the Philippines. A tropical country with 7 thousand islands to explore, fresh and full of flavours.
Mae is very passionate about authentic Filipino food, growing up in the Philippines learning how to cook from her late father 'Pepe' and her relatives using fresh local ingredients (literally in the back garden). Join Mae and experience the Philippines through her food memories and discover flavours of the islands.
The venue 'Coffee, Cakes & Kisses' Cafe is a central location 5 minutes from Warren Street Station.
Our pop up is chilled out there are some banters going around. An opportunity to meet try Philippine cuisine, Meet new people and have a awesome time!
*Welcome Drink: Don Papa Rum Cocktail - Philippine rum with calamansi liquor and guava juice.
*Snack: Ukoy - Shrimp and vegetable fritters
*Luzon: Vigan Empanada (the meaty kind) - Deep fried empanada filled with green papaya, vigan sausage meat and egg. Served with spiced vinegar dip.
*Visayas: La Paz Batchoy - Pork and egg noodle soup cooked with shrimp paste, liver and pork intestine. Topped with pork crackling, spring onions and toasted garlic.
*Mindanao: Durian Sorbetes at Kabkab - Homemade durian ice cream served with cassava crisp drizzled with latik (caramelised coconut syrup).
