Our Supper Club is simply an opportunity to have a taste of authentic home-cooked Mauritian cuisine, myself and Mama Choo will be cooking up all sorts in the kitchen! Come and join us for a 3 course menu that represents what we love most about Mauritian Food!

All of our dishes are made using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Each meal includes a welcome soft drink, appetizer, main dish, sides and a dessert. Our mission is to fill the void in the Mauritian home cooked Supperclub scene, introducing and bringing to light this delicious cuisine, passed on through generations & share the food I grew up on!

Our space is comfy & with maybe a little background sega music to add some tropical pizzazz! You bring the conversation, we’ll provide the food!

Super surprise

Delicious menu combining taste and textures. Main course was beautifully cooked with salad an apt accompaniment.
Venue lively but noisy.
A great experience thank you

An inspiring, eye-opening evening

John_Holland attended Mauritian Melange in September 2016, reviewed on 4 September 2016

My eyes were opened to the breadth of flavours and colours offered up as the evening unfolded. I didn't know quite what to expect, but the melting-pot of influences in each dish stood their own and every mouthful was well-balanced. Great food, great company - not so hot on the venue, I'm afraid (lost a point there) - but apart from that, an enjoyable night and it's inspired me to search out other Mauritian dishes to explore.

Marvellous Mauritius

Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed last night's Mauritian Melange. So many amazing dishes, all of which I'd happily eat again...and again!

Somewhat disappointing

london-eater attended Beach to Balham Mauritian Pop Up in September 2014, reviewed on 21 September 2014

We went with high hopes being great fans of Selina's food at a distance (Masterchef). I'm afraid we were disappointed. The staff were very flat, delivering and removing plates but with no zest, no explanations of what they were delivering, no enquiries about what we thought of it.

It was also disappointing that Shelina didn't come round and say hello and welcome. I know she was busy cooking but it would have added something.

We both thought the food was lacking something (the Mauritian guy next to me said too little salt) and I'm afraid that with the exception of the dessert and granita nothing delivered a Wow!

Sorry!

Delicious

Really great food, the aromatic chickpeas and the dessert with home made rum and raisin ice cream especially. A welcoming and relaxed atmosphere for the meal too.

Lovely hosts and great food

kerneljack attended Mauritian Dhall Puri Lunch in February 2014, reviewed on 23 February 2014

This was my first supper club and it was a delight! The food was prepared and served by the lovely hostess and her mother - and someone hiding in the conservatory (just kidding!). The afternoon was a never ending stream of authentic dishes, one after the other. I wish I could say I particularly enjoyed one or two dishes but I can't do that in this case as they were all very delectable. The lightly spiced Mauritian tea at the end was excellent too. Thank you for hosting this, I can fully appreciate the hard work this would have entailed and I look forward to meeting you again :-)

Taste Mauritius responded on 6 April 2014:

Thank you for the review!! I have just seen it :) so glad you enjoyed yourself, see you soon! xx

Fabulous Meal from Yummy Choo

Rating: 10

ABarber attended Sun in the City with Yummy Choo in July 2013, reviewed on 18 July 2013

I attended the pop up event at the Traders Vic restaurant at The Hilton after having already been treated to Yummy Choo's delicious food at a private event she catered for me! The food is simply wonderful full of flavour with succulent meats, delicately spiced curries and an array of of traditional Mauritian dishes and treats! A fantastic experience and opportunity to sample a unique cuisine that you won't find in most shops or reciepe books! I would certainly recommend Yummy Choo to everyone! On this particular night we were also treated to a display of traditional Sega dancing that was not only entertaining but enhanced an already tropical atmosphere at Traders Vic! I will not hesitate to book further experiences and events with this wonderful chef! Highly recommended!
