Event Photo

The second of Three evenings dedicated to the unsung heroes of Indian Food.
It's all about sitting down for a hearty Indian meal and finding out the story behind each dish being served. The recipes have been handed down the generations, so you can't get any more authentic than this.
And yes, in keeping with the Indian ethos portions will be generous so no guest will leave feeling anything but stuffed!!

Daal Wada served with Nariyal ki Chutney
A South Indian fried snack of coarsely ground lentils with fresh herbs and a hint of chilli. Served with a traditional fresh coconut chutney

Main course

Vizag Chicken Curry
This curry is a heady mix of coconut milk, curry leaves and the perfect blend of spices.

Mixed Vegetable Kootu (V)
There are many different types of kootu, this is one of my favourites. It is essentially stewed mixed vegetables with a hint of coconut.

Served with:

Tomato Rassam
A tangy tomato and lentil accompaniment great on its own or with rice

Green Beans Bhaaji
South Indian style green beans

Chappati and Pulao (Spiced rice)

Daal Payassam
A South Indian lentil based dessert. Each family has its own closely guarded recipe that’s unique in its own way.

Splendid food, I had the vegetarian option, but was tempted and also dipped into the chicken curry. Authentic and beautifully cooked and flavoured.

The food was fantastic really delicious and lots of it. Had the veggie curry and the rice, breads and two sides were perfect and such generous portions. Lovely host too who explained all the dishes. Would definitely recommend.

Subtle Spicing- perfectly balanced!

Was a delight to taste such well made Indian food! My favourite was the Wada and the Tomato Rasaam. The Wada was perfectly made....really crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The coconut chutney was delicious-not too spicy with a kick in the end. Was really brave of Nilanjani to serve Rotis for so many people....was delicious with the Tomato Rasaam! Definitely will go again to her Supperclub and would encourage others to book her future events...the dishes are authentic regional dishes- perfectly executed!
