Luxury smoked salmon producer, Hansen and Lydersen, will be hosting an exclusive event at AWC Wine Academy Marylebone, Central London, on 27th June, which will see freshly smoked cuts of salmon paired beautifully with fine sparkling, red and white wines – one being a classic wine pairing, and the other two Italian versions for each. Guests will learn about the different cuts, textures and flavours of the salmon from Ole-Martin Hansen himself, as well as learning how each wine pairs perfectly with each cut from wine connoisseur Luca Dusi.
Bringing his great-grandfather’s recipe to London, Ole-Martin Hansen runs the family smokehouse in Stoke Newington, using a unique blend of juniper and beech wood for a pleasantly sharp and piquant aroma. Each Hansen & Lydersen salmon is carefully hand-filleted and hand-salted according to a family recipe devised by Norwegian fishmonger Lyder-Nilsen Lydersen in 1923, and continues to be produced according to the family’s long-standing smoking traditions over the past 80 years.
This unique, gourmet pairing will take place at AWC Wine Academy’s prestigious venue from 7-9pm on 27th June 2013. With custom-made wine tasting tables and the finest Riedel glassware, it’s the perfect place to sample the delicate cuts of smoked salmon with beautiful fine wines.
