For one day only, Emily and Amy of the Rangoon Sisters and MiMi Aye aka Meemalee of Burmese Food and Beyond will be hosting a collaborative Burmese feast, in aid of the Red Cross in Myanmar. It coincides with the Festival of Lights, Thadingyut .
The Rangoon Sisters were recently featured as number 1 in the Observer Food Monthly’s “Best things in Food 2018”. MiMi is an esteemed food writer and expert on Burmese Food, author of cookbook, “Noodle!” and the forthcoming “Mandalay: Burmese Food and Beyond”, out next summer. Together they’ve wanted to host a super event for a few years and they’ve finally got their act together.
The 5 course menu £45 will include
Tohu Kyaw - Burmese Tofu fritters
Chet tha thoke - Chicken salad
Mohinga - Fish noodle chowder
Pork and mango curry
Cinnamon chicken
Side soup and salad
Rice
Lahpet thoke - pickled tea leaf salad
Dessert (tbc)
Note food will contain shrimp, fish and peanuts. Unfortunately it will be a set menu but we will have a vegetarian menu (please specify when booking). Bar available - this is not a bring your own event.
