hosted by GastroSalon
GastroSalon is an evening of fun, chat and readings from both well known and unknown people in the professional world of food, drink and aficionados.
In this salon we have three Accidental Foodists who started off on very different paths and now work in the industry in various capacities.
Florian Siepert enjoys starting companies and also enjoys eating cured meats. After working in the music industry and as a technology consultant he combined hedonism and tech to found Opentrips, a food centric travel startup. Florian's tours see groups visit Taiwan for street food tours, goat slaughters in Morocco and Naples for cookery writing, amongst many other things.
Sarah Chamberlain is a charity fundraiser and also one half of the powerhouse that is Toast Festival and runs various foods events and and around London combining culture, gastronomy and politics.
Donald Edwards is one half of the team behind the highly successful South London restaurant, Peckham Bazaar. Originally a biochemistry student he left that to pursue a career in wine and eventually opened up a short term pop-up that turned out to be one of the most popular new openings of 2013.
As well as chatting about their childhood foods, their foibles and the one that got away they will also read their "dessert island extract"
Floating on a virtual meringue in an imaginary sea of custard they will show you some of their favourite pieces of food writing.
Cost is £8.50 in advance, £9.00 at the door and includes a drink.
