What is the best meal to start with for the Chinese New Year? The answer is a Hot Pot definitely; because "Hot" with a Chinese character, "火(huo)", means "Prosperous". Various dishes put together can bring about an abundant and fruitful year ahead.

Wenyu's Teahouse prepares an authentic Chinese Hot Pot feast, which includes two different soups. Sichuan(四川) style spicy soup and a Yunan(云南)style tomato soup. We brought some packed soup stock from China last month, which is absolutely fresh and delicious.

Here are instructions about Hot Pot in China. Be careful though with your mouth running water whilst you are watching.

The ingredients we prepare for hot pot this time are:
Meat selection:
Beef slice roll, Lamb slice roll, fish balls, crab sticks, and King Prawns.

Vegetable selection:
Oyster mushroom, dry mushroom, tofu, Tofu paper, Chinese muer spinach , Chinese leaves, Lotus root, Chinese Yam, potato, egg noodles, rice noodles

Chinese herb tea is served as a refreshment whilst it also balances the hot pot heat.

1: Comfy clothing is recommended, DON'T wear something white! Come ready to get messy, which is the proper way to enjoy a Chinese hot pot with chopsticks.
2: "Bring your own" drinks if you wish: cold beer and soft drinks are good friends of a Hot Pot :)

Only 8 guest tickets are available this time. Book your place as quick as possible to avoid disappointment.
