For the first Summer garden BBQ at Wenyu’s, I have sent a VIP invitation to Mr. Sun - fingers crossed that he will turn up. We will prepare organic meat and vegetable from our local market.

We will also prepare delicious Chinese Zongzi in Celebration of the Duanwu Festival.

“Duanwu Festival, also known as Dragon Boat Festival; is a traditional and statutory holiday originated in China. It marks the beginning of Summer time.
The traditional food of the Duanwu Festival is Zong zi (glutinous rice balls filled with egg, beans, fruits, walnuts, dates, sweet potato, mushrooms, and/or meat. The zong zi, once prepared are wrapped in corn husks or bamboo leaves then steamed.
Three of the most widespread activities for Duanwu Festival are for eating (and preparing) Zongzi, drinking realgar wine, and racing dragon boats.”

We will give you instructions on how you can also prepare your own Zongzi during our tea party.

Good quality Chinese green tea, Olong tea, Puer tea, flowering tea are available as always.
